Lisa Tolliver, CMP, CWP, Tapped As Director of Sales Johnson City’s Only Marriott Hotel
Courtyard’s state-of-the-art “refreshing business” design one of first in the U.S.
Sept. 1, 2009 – Johnson City, TN – Steven Bales, general manager of the new Johnson City Courtyard by Marriott, today announced that Lisa Tolliver, CMP, CWP (Certified Meeting Professional; Certified Wedding Planner), has been named director of sales for the 90-room hotel. Located at the Hamilton Place Town Center on State of Franklin Road, Johnson City’s only Marriott hotel is slated to open Sept. 24.
Tolliver’s 11-year experience in hospitality industry-related sales and meeting management includes three years as convention sales manager for the Johnson City Convention and Visitors Bureau. While with the Bureau, she won a Pinnacle award from the Northeast Tennessee Tourism Association for leading a marketing campaign that brought significant dollars to the local economy.
Tolliver has also served as marketing and meetings manager for Reed Medical Education and assistant director, Continuing Medical Education, for Duke University Medical Center. She holds a Bachelors degree from East Tennessee State University.
“We’re very proud to be the only Marriott-branded hotel in Johnson City,” said Tolliver. “We expect to draw a lot of business from East Tennessee State University, the Johnson City Medical Center, and many corporations in and around Johnson City.”
One of the first Courtyards in the U.S. to feature Marriott’s new contemporary, progressive “refreshing business” design, the new hotel will feature a uniquely re-designed lobby with separate welcome pedestals replacing the traditional front desk. Flexible seating options will range from a communal table, to more private media booths with high-definition televisions, to a more intimate, semi-enclosed lounge area.
The exclusive Courtyard GoBoard™, a 52-inch LCD touch screen, will offer local information, maps, weather, and news, business and sports headlines, all accessible via touch-screen navigation.
Dining has been completely redesigned, with The Bistro - Eat. Drink. Connect. The Market™, a 24/7 shop, will provide snacks, beverages and sundries. For outdoor relaxation, guests can enjoy an outdoor fire pit and beautiful views from the courtyard.
