Award-Winning Hotelier Jonathan Brashier To Manage First Courtyard By Marriott In Clemson, SC
State-of-the-art-designed hotel to open in October
Clemson, SC – July 22, 2009 – Jonathan Brashier, who earlier this year was named Opening General Manager of the Year by Marriott International, Inc.’s SpringHill Suites brand, has brought his award-winning expertise to Clemson, South Carolina, where he will open the city’s first Courtyard by Marriott in October.
The 110-room hotel, at the intersection of US 123 and State Road 93, is located less than one mile from the Clemson University campus and will be among the first in the U.S. to feature Courtyard’s new contemporary, progressive design. (See a video tour of the new Courtyard lobby: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8mB05QhrG2s.)
A graduate of Spartanburg Methodist College, Brashier most recently managed the new SpringHill Suites by Marriott in Richmond, Virginia. Before that, he served in various managerial positions with three Residence Inn by Marriott hotels, winning a national Sales Excellence award in 2002.
Visitors to Brashier’s new Courtyard will experience a uniquely re-designed lobby, with separate welcome pedestals replacing the traditional front desk. Flexible seating options will range from a communal table, to more private media booths with high-definition televisions, to a more intimate, semi-enclosed lounge area.
The exclusive Courtyard GoBoard™, a 52-inch LCD touch screen, will offer local information, maps, weather, and news, business and sports headlines, all accessible via touch-screen navigation.
Dining has been completely redesigned, with The Bistro - Eat. Drink. Connect; and The Market™, a 24/7 shop, will provide snacks, beverages and sundries.
Larry Blumberg & Associates (LBA), a Dothan, Alabama-based hotel development and management company, will manage the hotel. LBA currently manages 60 major-brand hotels in the southeastern U.S.
